Mehndi, also known as henna across the globe, is a paste often associated with good fortune and positivity. It is one of the oldest forms of body art originated by humans. Women and girls get their hands and feet laden with this paste on auspicious occasions. Be it weddings or festivals like Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Teej or Eid – Mehendi is an extremely cherished way to drench into the celebratory feels for most girls. While some women swoon over its aromatic fragrance, others absolutely love their hands adorned with pretty and intricate mehndi designs. But now, as the time has advanced, it is common for men to apply mehendi as well. Mehndi Designs For Beginners

Acharya Shambhu (Niko)

Shambhu’s heart intention is to serve Shiva (Universal Consciousness) and Shakti (The Energy of Universal Consciousness) by freely offering heart-centric Kundalini Meditation practices.

The fountainhead of this spiritual lineage is the Indian saint Nityananda of Ganeshpuri. Shambhu is a student of Swami Khecaranatha (Nathaji) whose teacher Swami Rudrananda (Rudi) had a powerful connection with Nityananda, through which he taught open-eye Shakti transmission, freely given to anyone.

The Kundalini meditation practices of non-dual Shaivism provide time-tested, effective means for addressing the daily challenges of life in the context of ever-maturing spiritual growth, what Rudi called “depth over time.”

Shambhu strives to express “depth over time" in all aspects of his life: his spiritual life, as a student and a teacher; the professional realm, where Shambhu earned an MBA at UC Berkeley and works in finance; his family life, as a husband and a father of a five-year-old; and in all of his relationships.

Shambhu has been a student of Swami Khecaranatha since 2002 and was initiated into the teacher-training program in 2014. Shambhu was formally initiated as an Acharya in this lineage in January, 2017, participating in an all-day ceremony conducted in Ganeshpuri, India, where Nityananda spent the later years of his life and took samadhi. Shambhu serves on the Board of Directors of Sacred Space Yoga Sanctuary, the non-profit organization supporting the spiritual programs of the Heart of Consciousness.

Originally from Bulgaria, Shambhu is currently a resident of Kauai, Hawaii. In his free time Shambhu enjoys spending time with family, gardening, playing tennis, practicing chi gong, snorkeling, hiking, travelling, and reading.
